Religious Education: Classes for
religious education will be held every Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:15

Ministry to the Sick: Rev. Popovici
will make monthly visits to the sick on the first Friday of the month.
Kindly
notify the Rectory office about any sick or aged who are confined to
home or to
a nursing home, or hospitalized, and will gladly visit them and bring
the
sacraments. It is responsibility of the immediate family to notify the
pastor.
In case of emergencies please call any time.
Attention: Anyone who
moves or changes their telephone number or address is asked to provide
the new
information to the church trustees or Pastor as soon as possible.
Rosary: The
Apostleship of Prayer and Rosary Society request members and
parishioners to
pray the Rosary on the First Sunday of each month, 20 minutes
before
Divine Liturgy.
Divine Liturgy for the children: Next Liturgy
for children will be held today March 7, 2010 at Ukrainian Divine
Liturgy.
All parents are requested to bring their children to church to
celebrate the
Holy Divine Liturgy.

(6-six) and blintzes with: cheese and kapusta, each package is only
$6.00. All
proceeds go to our Church. This is a Fund Raiser.
7. Our Ukrainian Cultural Saturday School
is
sponsoring our fifth Shevchenko Day followed by Brunch in our parish
center on
March 14, 2010 after Ukrainian Divine Liturgy. More information is

our Church Bulletin.
8. This
Friday, March 12, 2010 Apostleship of Prayer is inviting everyone from
our
Parish to participate in a special
Dinner : “Friday Lenten Fish” which will start at 6:00 p.m. Pleser come
and
enjoy to be part of our comunnity, this is fundraiser for the Church.
9. The
Rosary Society and Apostleship of Prayer cordially invites all their

Holy
Spirit: In Christianity, the Holy Spirit
(or Holy Ghost) is the Spirit of God.
In mainstream (Trinitarian) Christian beliefs he is the third person of
the Trinity. As part of the Godhead,
the Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and
with God the Son. The
Christian
theology of the Holy Spirit was the last piece of Trinitarian theology
to be
fully developed. There is also greater diversity in Christian theology
of the
Spirit (pneumatology) than
there is in the
theology of the Son (Christology)
or of the Father. Within
mainstream Christianity the Holy Spirit is one of the three persons
of
the Trinity.
As such he is personal and also fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with
God
the Father and God the Son He is different from the Father
and the Son
in that he proceeds from the Father (or from the
Father and
the Son) as described in the Nicene
Creed His sacredness
is reflected in the New Testament gospels which proclaim blasphemy
against the Holy Spirit as unforgivable.The
Holy Spirit is believed to perform specific divine functions in the
life of the
Christian or the church. These include:
Conviction
of sin.
The Holy Spirit acts to
convince the unredeemed person both of the sinfulness of their actions,
and of
their moral standing as sinners before God.
Bringing
to conversion.
The action of the Holy Spirit is seen as an essential part of the
bringing of
the person to the Christian faith. The new believer is "born again of
the
Spirit".
Enabling
the Christian life.
The Holy Spirit is believed to dwell in the individual believers and
enable
them to live a righteous and faithful life.
As
a comforter or Paraclete,
one who intercedes, or supports or acts as
an advocate, particularly in times of trial.
Inspiration
and interpretation of scripture.
The Holy Spirit both inspires the writing of the scriptures and
interprets
them to the Christian and/or church.
The
Holy Spirit is also believed to be active especially in the life of Jesus
Christ, enabling him to fulfil his work on earth. Particular
actions of the
Holy Spirit include:Cause of his birth. According to the gospel
accounts
of the birth of Jesus, the "beginning of His incarnate existence",
was due to the Holy Spirit.
Anointing
him at his baptism.
Empowerment
of his ministry.
The ministry of Jesus following his baptism (in which the Holy Spirit
is
described in the gospels as "descending on Him like a dove") is

Святий Дух у Біблії: Святий Дух (євр.: Ruah haqodesh,
гр. Πνεύμα - Пневма) - богословський термін, що означає в
християнстві одну з трьох постатей Святої Трійці поряд із Богом Отцем
і Богом-Сином.
У богослов'ї
вчення про Святого Духа називається пневматологією.
Старий Заповіт: У Старому
Заповіті поняття Духу визначено терміном «Руаг», що
дослівно означає подих. Вперше
цей термін зустрічається у книзі Буття, на початку створення світу
«Дух Божий
ширяв над поверхнею води».(Бут. 1:2)
Пророк Ісая
характеризує «Дух Господній», як
«дух мудрості й розуму, дух поради й лицарства, дух пізнання та
страху
Господнього» (Іс. 11:2).
Дух Господній говорить вустами пророків (2 Сам. 23:2).
Новий Заповіт: У Новому Заповіті
міститься об'явлення Святого Духу: Від Святого Духа Діва Марія зачала Ісуса
Христа (Мт. 1:18, Лк. 1:35). Святий Дух
зійшов з небес у вигляді голуба під час хрещення Ісуса на Йордані (Мр. 1:10).
У день П'ятидесятниці Святим духом
«сповнилися»
апостоли (Дії 2:4,
Дії 7:55). Святий
Дух говорить вустами пророків (Дії 4:25). У
посланнях апостолів Святий Дух називається Духом Правди (Ів. 14:17),
Духом Віри (2 Кор. 4:13),
Духом Любові (2 Тим. 1:7),
Духом Вічності (Євр. 9:14) і
Духом Благодаті (Євр. 10:29). Вчення
Церкви Католицької, православної, а також більшості протестантських церков, які визнають вчення про Триєдиного
Бога,
вважають Святого Духа особою, рівною Богові-Отцю і
Богові-Сину. Так, Нікейський символ віри (IV століття) стверджує
віру
в «Духа
Святого, Господа Животворящого, що від Отця і
(Сина) ісходить, що з Отцем і Сином рівнопоклоняємий і рівнославимий,
що говорив
через пророків, а згідно афанасійського
символу віри (ІV – V) століття «Дух Святий від Отця та Сина не зроблений,
не
створений і не народжений , але походить» Дух Святий як Особа.
Богослови
підкреслюють, що
Дух святий є особою, якому властиві риси думаючої і діючої згідно з
його статусом істоти, Він володіє розумом, почуттями та волею.
Зокрема: Дух Святий вчить
і нагадує (Ів. 14:26), перебуває
зі
своїм народом (Ів. 14:17), пробуває
у нас
(1 Кор. 3:16),
свідчить про Ісуса (Ів. 15:26), відкриває
людям очі і світові виявить про гріх, і про правду, і про суд" (Ів. 16:8),
